Day 2
Color Match painted the body moldings and flares.

Day 3
Thinking a Star Wars Stormtrooper theme?
Painted the bumper, license frame and wing with bed spray textured paint.
Shizzel is Bullet proof.

 

Day 4
Sold the old tires and wheels.

Yummy!
And the gifts just start a rolling in...

Day 4
Bought some new shoes!
Got some new shoe on eBay auto.
Smoking deal with no taxes and free shipping came out to about 180 a tire.

 

Day 5
Like a onion, found some bad old rotors and decided to redo the brakes while getting ready for install day!

I hate doing brakes of all maintenance that I have to do on my vehicles.

Removed the upper ball joint, what a ordeal but it will be worth it.

Pressing the ball joint out of the spindle is a HELLISH nightmare.
Should not be attempted by those with no imagination for creativity.
There really is no way to explain what I am talking about unless you do it and those that have probably know what I am talking about.

And most auto parts stores don't carry the right press to get them out.

You have been warned.

What kind of bed spray textured paint did you use? Did the license frame require a surface prep before the paint/liner?

This stuff is incredible!
I always do a sand scuffing to clean of big scratches and dirt, and if I am doing it on paint, light primer. Metal, primer.

Good, strong takes a beating and doesn't, or hasn't faded like most paints.

 

Day 6
The installation

One side so far...
Now just button all the nuts bolts down...
I will add the notes later this evening when I am done.

Had to bend out the fire wall just a tad. Pretty darn easy.

Coilovers, UCA in place. Just tighten down, Drive side done.



All and all, not too bad. Scale 1-10 about a 7, would have been a 4-5, if I had the right ball joint tool and press, but a little bit of spit and Enginuity and made it happen!

I think I am going to go the black bed liner route on the flares and lower body modelings. I like the way your lower doors turned out and I loved the look on my old Taco.

 

Got alignment this morning cleaned her up, just about done...
