I need to cut or cover this rust to make it somewhat better looking and to protect it from future damage.
It is clearly a mess according to the pictures, and I domt have a concrete plan of attack.
I'm pretty green but am willing to do all the work myself just like I have with the rest of the truck.
I'm looking for input on how to do this properly, what to buy or make , can I flare enough out to cover all or a majority of the protruding tire, and how to take precautions to do it right.
Any kind of input is helpful, and maybe it's as easy as cutting , filling with spray foam, sealing , than covering , but I dont know.

    Thanks a million

Cut it out and weld nee metal in. That’s the only proper way to fix this. But it is probably pretty deep.

I'am legit tackling the same issue. Mine goes up into the wheel well which is going to be a pain to shape metal for. Inbox me some of your ideas and I'll fire back some updates.

Try and find a donor rig to cut out the fenders and weld In the new ones. If body work isn't your thing you may be able to get some fender flares to cover up where your seam will be.

I need to remove my Fender Flares and check out what lies beneath.. Although, previous owner did have quite a bit of work done under his ownership, so I'm hoping it's not so bad..

Damn! Where do you guys all live that have these wheel well rot issues this bad? I would lose my mind if any of my old vehicles had rust like that. I never want to live where you guys are for that reason alone. I detest rust!

That’s some serious work to tackle for sure, you need a donor or new panels that you can use to replace all that after you’ve cut it out.
