I am looking to upgrade my audio but I have never done this before and not sure what all I need to be prepared for. I want to replace all 8 speakers and possibly add a sub (with it's own amp) under the seat. I also want to replace the head unit. I'm not wanting to have a crazy sound system that you can hear coming down the road, just something to give me a little oomph. I found the speakers and amp on crutchfield.

Front door-Focal ISU 690 (comes with tweeters)
Back door-Focal RSE 130 (comes with tweeters)
    Rear door-Focal RCX 130

The head unit I am looking at is the CTHome T10

I assume I will be needing an amp, I found JL Audio JD400- 4 channel, 75 watts RMSx4

Am I getting in over my head? Thank you

I changed speakers, tweeters to Alpine. Added plug and play Alpine Subwoofer under the passenger seat. This subwoofer has processer on board... I like my change.

I very recently got a 2021 4R TRD ORP, and am also considering upgrading the sound bits. I found this - https://oemaudioplus.com/toyota/4runner/ - doesn't quite fit all your requirements, but might be worth considering.

Has anyone WITH the JBL system done any Audio builds? I would definitely be interested in seeing how I can make my system better.

I did the OEM Plus speaker upgrade to my 2021 SR5. Definitely better than the stock speakers and the plug-and-play design made them very easy to install. OEM Plus sells a Sub and Amp upgrade option as well, but it's pricey. I think I may do the Alpine subwoofer next, under the seat.

its pricey, but its got an OEM look and feel and it fits perfectly. I just installed the full OEM Audio + kit this past weekend and I'm very happy with the end product.

Keep on reading iffy reports about OEM but glad to read positive reports.
Debating between Focals and Dynaudio for the speakers in my Venture but was thinking something along the lines of the CleanSweep.
