What happened to the thread about the ARK brand splash guards??? I can’t find it, guess I’ll start over.

My ARK splash guards that I ordered arrived. I installed them Wednesday. I decided to remove my wheels, (one side at a time) to make the install easier.

I had a wee bit of trouble fitting the right side splash guard. I had to drill two new 5/16” holes in the front end of the splash guard, right at the very edge of the material, to match the holes in my frame for the push-in fasteners. The original holes on the splash guard were approx. 1/2” off! I wasn’t too happy about that, but oh well, in the end no biggy- not worth sending it back. I made it work.

The left front splash guard, (the bottom picture here) fit perfectly, no drilling of new holes required.

Here’s a few pics. In the one close up shot, the middle picture here, on the right side of the vehicle, you can see where I had to drill the two new holes in the splash guard, near it’s edges, to line up with the holes in my frame for the push-in fasteners.

Over all, I am happy with my purchase of these ARK brand wheel well splash guards. A big improvement over the rinky dink factory parts. IMG_0769.jpg IMG_0768.jpg

I like mine too. They work well.

Quick question, can anyone confirm the extra clips sold by Ark comes with the clips shown in the photos above?
The stock image on the website shows a different style of clip...

Mine came with those shown in the link you provided. They worked well for me and I chose to use them over the fatigued stock clips.

    **CORRECTION**

I believe I was thinking of clips I used for something else, after I posted I took a look and found I received the same clips that Rick G indicates in post 6 below. Now seeing again I agree with the one time use comment…I believe I broke one or two of them, glad they supplied extras, when trying to force them into a few of the holes.

Just installed these on my 4th Gen 4runner because my stock ones were completely gone, like ripped off somehow. Either way, ARK seems high quality, was easy to install. Only 1 hole on each side didn't line up, but i haven't drilled new holes yet. They mention this could happen in their instructions. Two thumbs up!

I was able to install mine by just elongating the hole closest to the front. I also bought a bag of clips from Amazon because the junk ones that ARK provides are too soft to withstand the tight tolerances. The liners themselves are excellent though.

Here’s the style of retainers that came in my kit the other day. There were several extras / left overs in the package.

As Deuxdiesel mentioned above, the provided retainers are not very robust / sturdy. I’m going to take a peek under there at mine every once in a while to see how they’re doing.

If I see that any retainers are backing out of the holes or missing, I’ll have to search out a better retainer. But for the most part, I’m thinking they’ll be OK and will stay put.

The retainers that come with the guards are fine as a one-time use part if everything lines up. If you have to persuade the liners into place, they are not great.

It was the first thing I bought for mine. I love them and the fitment was perfect.

I considered the Ark's but went with Rad Rubber. Little less coverage but 1/2 the cost. As far as the 2 holes being off maybe you should show them. Good customer service would replace that side.

Installed my New TriXPoly ARK SPLASH GUARDS and didn't have any issues with alignment whatsoever.
They came with the updated retaining pins.

I just recently noticed the new TriXPoly version. I've been wondering about them. Thanks for the post @Saker.
    Anyone else tried these? Tempted....

Yeah, I ended up using every last extra clip on mine because of the alignment issues.

However, everything has held up through multiple off road trips with lots of mud splashing.

I think they could be installed without making new holes in the shields, but it requires a specific order installing the clips, and pulling things around. I ran out of patience and just reamed out a couple of uncooperative holes.

ARK has the new front and rear deletes with this new TriXPoly product. They are made in the USA now as well.
I did the complete set of deletes and splash guards, never had to remove wheels to install any of them.
