I had two 2019 RAV4's, which we purchased the same day.

The Canadian model was recalled to have the fuel pump replaced and then later to inspect for cracks in the engine block (seriously).

The Japanese model had no recalls. I'm glad my 4Runner was Made in Japan.

 

Aside from my Tacoma, all of my Toyotas have been built in Japan.

 

Mine was manufactured in Aichi, Japan.

 

So are all of ours.

My Runner is involved with the fuel pump recall.

 

Us T4R owners should be proud they're made in country of origin. I mean, would you eat sushi from the Safeway deli?

 

Fuel pump is a 3rd party part. Being Fiat, GM, Lamborghini or Rolls Royce, all outsourced in this day and age.
Engine block cracks recall - not even widespread and Toyota made it right. So yes, I’ll buy another one. Go buy a Ford or a Hyundai/Kia and watch your house burn down. Tell me how much Ford will give you for your house.

 

Corolla is made in Canada. 7 years old runs purfect. Took the 4R into town today, for a cap/rotor kit (Ford). There was a Kia on fire thing completely burned up.

 

My Mexico built VW GTI has been the most solid car I have owned.

 

I've got 4 vehicles right now ... '06 Tacoma 4 cyl regular cab 4x4, '08 Honda Fit, '14 Subaru Outback, and now '21 4runner. They're all made in Japan and have been the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned in my 25 years of driving. I was a GM guy before, and just assumed wrenching on a vehicle every month was a normal thing LOL!
