are these spark plugs fake?

anybody knows if these plugs are original or fake?

 

bite one, if its not real your tooth won't break.

you can also test by throwing at a windshield

 

My Denso/genuine Toyota sparks plugs were made in the Philippines....Look good to me....

 

OEM plugs are Denso plugs.

 

Why would you think its fake?

 

Lots of fake stuff on ebay and Amazon. Look up a set of 6 fuel injectors. $50? No way. They start having issues soon after installation.

The injectors do look genuine. Correct colors, correct box, etc.

The over seas factories contracted to make the genuine parts will run scads of extras, cut every corner possible and keep anything that doesn't pass QC to sell out the back door. They make their way onto Amazon/Ebay as cheap genuine parts.

It's a real problem.

The plugs I replaced in my car...were all packaged separately in Toyota boxes. They were sold on Ebay, in the US and weren't super cheap and I have no issues so far....but I worry.

 

Not to be negative but if you are worried that much.

Buy from the dealer.

I buy from ebay & Amazon knowing more than half is China. Everyone says Buy American. But sorry I'll take my cheap Chinese stuff that for the most part lasts long enough.

 

Of course, I do buy most things from the dealer. Toyota parts last 20 years. I'd be a fool not to.

However, there is a line where a reasonable chance can be taken on something like plugs that are easily replaced.

It's one thing to know you are buying cheap Chinesium but another to be fooled with fraudulent advertising.
