    Hello all,

I’m having some issues with my apple carplay.

The problem is the vehicle not picking up on what you are saying. I can say “hey siri text my wife” Siri pops up and asks what I want to say and then won’t pick up anything after that.

Also on phone calls I can’t hear the other side of the call but they can’t hear me

It’s been in the shop twice and the last time they replaced the microphone but still didn’t fix it.

I’ve tried changing cords and also tried with Bluetooth but still the same issue.

The microphone obviously can hear the original command but nothing after that. Any ideas?

I’ve had issues when using voice commands with certain apps. It’s been a while, but I think it was any time I used voice commands within the Apple Maps app. It seemed as though it high jacked the microphone and wouldn’t let go. I stopped using that and it seemed to work more consistently.

Try troubleshooting different apps, uninstalling and reinstalling, to see if you can narrow it down. Good luck!

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Take that as a sign from God that you shouldn't be texting your wife.

I had some different issues with CarPlay in my 2021 OR and solved them by updating the firmware in the head unit. The firmware from the factory was a couple of releases behind.

You can find instructions for updating on line and it is not very hard to update..

    Cheers,
    Bob
