APEX recovery points for KDSS 4Runner

Apex has recovery points for the KDSS equipped 4Runner... I haven't installed them yet, and apparently APEX doesn't have an installation video for this version yet. Has anyone else installed these? The instructions say the front bumper needs to be removed, but from the what I am reading I am not understanding why (it looks like everything should be accessible without the removal). Hoping someone else has installed these and maybe created a video? The video APEX has out on Youtube is for their non KDSS version.

 

I do not own nor have I installed these. But a close reading of the instructions would seem to indicate that a nut needs to be fished through the holes indicated by the yellow arrows.
