I recently installed Apex Overland Front recovery points on my 5th Gen after reading a lot of great reviews. They are certainly heavy duty and look great.

Has anyone actually used them with shackles for recovery?

I only ask as I didn't see any experience reviews, just aesthetics and installation. My mechanic said he doesn’t think the sway bar bracket would hold in a recovery situation.

    Anyone use em yet?

Did your mechanic see that it mounts in more areas than just the sway bar location? The combined strength of all mounts is more than enough for a recovery. That is, if you know what you’re doing.... Any recovery point can fail if you go cave man style on it.
