Dealer is offering to install for $200, basically a port lock for your OBDII harness to prevent thieves from programming a new key (this is a super common thing in my area).

I used the steering wheel club on my current 4Runner but thinking the OBDII is another layer to deter/prevent headaches.

With the new supply/availability of these things being a 4+ month wait it might be wise to layer up on anti-theft. Thoughts?

$200 seems reasonable today. Amazon only lists one by MITI and its $189.
My guess is a year from now $99 will be the norm.

yeah, the lack of availability is incredible considering the dollars this is costing insurance companies. OBD lock + the club + covering VIN + sleeping my fob + Toyota connected services GPS should be enough to keep the 4Runner in my driveway I think, hopefully.
