Looking for a front facing camera that runs full time. It does not have to be used with the screen. I used a GoPro on my Tacoma, it came with a GP mount. It saved me a couple times. It suddenly developed a symptom where it turns on and off constantly which could be the battery or sim card. So before I spend money on it I'm just wondering what everyone else is running? TIA.

I use a Blackvue 2 channel for a dash cam. Garmin, Yi and Cobra make good cameras that aren't too expensive.

I run a Blackvue I have had for about 9 years now. Sometimes the Blackvue will get buggy so I just hold down the format SD button and its fixes any issues. But I will likely be replacing it soon for a VIFO A139 Pro, cameras are a bit better now.

Forgot to mention I also added a forward facing camera for my off roading. Mounted just below the front Toyota emblem and shoes on my 10" Kenwood head unit.

I have had the Anytime Backup Camera by Cali Raised LED for a few weeks and it works well. It is plug and play and comes with a backlit switch on the dash with 3 settings - (1) displays the front camera view, (2) normal neutral setting that automatically displays the backup view when the vehicle is in reverse and (3) displays the backup view. I am very happy to have it. One thing to watch out for in the installation, whether you do it or have somebody else do it for you. There is a white wire to cut at the end (otherwise the forward view is reversed with things to your right showing to the left on the display) and it needs to be taped up or tied off so it doesn't make a temporary connection and cause the image to flip back and forth. That happened to me on a rough trail the first time I used the camera. The installer immediately knew what happened and fixed it in a minute or two.

I just use a wireless one from Amazon. The camera mounts on the front license plate and the battery has to be charged with a USB cord ever couple of months. Separate screen in the cabin plugged into cig lighter port. Super easy.
