I'm looking at the Kenda Klever RT in 33x10.50r17. I want stock width but taller. This size fits the bill. I'm wondering if anyone else here is running this size? I currently have a 2.5" front lift from Ironman 4x4 and Ironman UCAs. I'm guessing it'll be close but I'm wondering how close.... I'm thinking I might be able to clearance the body mount by just trimming it slightly but it's all just guessing. Any help or pictures would be appreciated!

Those tires are 32.8" tall. A lot of folks have cleared 285/70/17's, which are usually about the same height. You'll probably be fine with some minor trimming.

Someone in our local circle was running those on his Tacoma. Cool tire! They did well in the snow on the trail last winter. Well, except that one time @Thatbassguy had to pull him out of the ditch. ;) But other than that...

It seemed like almost everyone got stuck in the ditch that day. :D

But, I think someone else pulled him out. I don't think I was involved in any recoveries that day. I did winch him out of his prison of trees in Tigerton this September.

Yeah, you're right. You were down by me when @Camerasandcoffee was helping me get out of another ditch at the same time. :bananadance:

    Great trip, that one.

I've heard nothing but good things about them. I'm basically stuck between the Kenda's in 33x10.5 and 285/70. I like the idea of the 33x10.5 because if I can avoid the bmc then that would be awesome but I'm not opposed to it if I have too. Would like to hear real world info about the 33x10.5 on a lifted 5th gen.

You shouldn't need a MBC with either one. ;)

Now I need to see this size tire on a 5th gen. Havent found any….

Would give the impression of tall skinnies, or closer to narrowish 285/70s. ?

If I had less weight tire in load rating SL / Load C with 3pmsf rating in 33x10.5R17 I would have got that vs 285. 10.5 is fraction over 265mm looks perfect for me. I don't like the 255s that looks like old jeep tire on a newer body style 4runner. Also 255/80R17 been load E would not meet my needs as well.

    Rough County 2” lift ... 285/75/17 KO2
I am running Kenda Klever 285-70-17 on a 2018 TRD Off Road with a Rough Country 2" front and 1" rear lift. When going backwards at full turn, they rub on the front mud flaps. I have not pushed them back yet.
I like the tires and going to buy another set for my new RRW rims.

I found one youtuber that mounted them on a early 5th gen Trail Edition with positive praise in the 33x10.5r17. He did not need a BMC either. I'm pretty sure that if I went with the 285s that they would rub the BM at some point so I decided to go ahead and give the 33x10.5 a shot. I'll post pictures when I get them mounted. I like the idea of a taller version of the 265s that come stock. The only downside I see with this tire choice is weight. From what I've researched the Kenda Klever RTs in 33x10.5 weigh about 60lbs per (E-load only). The only 1" narrower tire (vs a 285 in the same tire weighs 56lbs) will provide less rolling resistance so its probably a wash as far as driving characteristics. The 33x10.5s have a deeper thread depth (19/32) over the 285s (16.9/32) as well. I wanted minimal trimming and possibility of rubbing the BM or the UCAs which would have required spacers which would have guarantied a BMC at minimum. There are trade offs with everything. I do know that I'll have to do a little reshaping of the wheel liner in the front but that's no big deal.

I wish major tire places have this size in multiple options. I wonder why this tire size is not available?

Discount tire is my preferred place as I never had issues with multiple sets / sizes / load rating of KO2 (which many having lot of problems) and they were able to fix poor balancing I had with my 4runner TRD Pro where wheels and tires seems not installed in Japan like other trims.

I have those same Kenda Klevers. I also have a 3" lift. They fit perfectly. They are amazing tires too. I do a lot of off roading, including icy and snowy roads and they perform flawlessly.

Fedex says mine should be delivered today. I'll post up some pics when I get them. Mount and balance will likely be Friday.

Those look great but damn heavy for such a narrow tire.

    How tall to they measure?
