    I was checking fluids today and noticed this component with 2 threaded holes under front cross-member. I’m guessing it’s for KDSS which I don’t have. This is on the driver’s side.

    That is not for KDSS. KDSS mounts to the side of the driver side frame rail. The piece you are referring to is part of the front differential hanger. The two holes are not used, but may be for bolting the car down while in transit.

    How hard would it have been, from the factory on a vehicle not requiring any connections, to have that cat already painted?

    I know the bean counters think one thing....Geez coat that joker!
