Anyone else disappointed that the Limited 2025 4Runner does not come in Silver?

I really like the Limited 4Runner interior and am disappointed it does not come in Silver. I also do not like the blue interior on the Platinum so just wondering if anyone else is scratching their heads over this?

Silver is one of the most popular colors out there so it seems really odd it's on the Platinum but not the Limited and pretty much all the other trims.

 

There has been speculation, the reduced number of "options" today likely allows them to give us BNG (Bold New Graphics) every single year as they add in one or two new "things" each year to keep driving sales. Different color interior, different color exterior, different wheels, they will change things every year or two for the next ten years.

 

you have to remember, oem's are catering to the 90+ % of consumers that buy a model trim brand, not the forum people. they see new features added and dont realize they were features that came standard in previous gen end of life so they take it as a new year new features and better than last year model.

its nothing new. toyota has been doing de-content new gens from previous gens for decades. i have seen it on my 2004 4R, 2014 4R and now 2025 4R vs the 5th gen.

and it happens across all models, not just the 4R.

The 2004-2009 4runner had the digital HVAC display, with clock and temp and mileage meter. This was nowhere near cutting edge back in 2004 as the Lexus models had it since about 1995, BUT it was a nice upgrade from the 1995-2003 4Runner interior. The 2010 4R came out without it, and then it was added back in 2011 for the Limited models. The basic HVAC controls still used all the way thru 2024 in all models except the Limited were so lame. They could have at least had something comparable to the 2004-2009 HVAC controls and dash. Nope, nada.... Basic as it gets downgrade.

oh hell no, i absolutely hated the 2004 star pattern hvac controls. that was the most useless hvac controls i had ever seen.

at least the 2014 4R had dials for the temp and sqaure buttons for all controls in a nice neat 2 x 4 row layout

speedway blue is the best blue hands down. first time i saw a x-runner with it, i was hooked on that blue.

They are.

The Toyota 4Runner was available in Voodoo Blue in 2019, but only on the TRD Pro trim. Voodoo blue was not offered again on 4Runners, even in lower trim levels. That makes it an ultra-rare color/trim combo.

On other models like the Tacoma, after the TRD Pro got it, the lower trim levels got it the following year(s). But the 2019 T4R is a real unicorn. Albeit, a slow and chubby unicorn.

 

Speedway blue is very nice, I will give you that. I wish they'd bring it back, but that 2023 concept vehicle isn't Speedway blue, that's a purplish color.

Is that so? Hmm, maybe that 23' fell into some bad lighting. The fucking thing looks purple.

 

But i guess if color is the only disappointment, that can always be changed, with paint, dip, wrap, etc. and probably for less than buying a new truck for just a color.

Well after having a variety of red (my current 4Runner), blue, and grey vehicles was going to go with the Platinum trim for the new 4Runner until I saw the blue interior. Why I was hoping the Limited was going to be in silver and then potentially put those tires/rims on later.
