I have a 2002 Sport T4R with 337L happy miles. The remote/keyless/alarm has always worked and when it did not work, all I had to do was change the CR2016 battery.

Fast forward to now: The remote slowing started having issues, so I changed the batteries again. Tested the batteries. All good.

Followed the RS3200 steps for reprogramming. Did not work and set off the alarm. Can not shut the alarm off, so disconnected the battery. And there it sits.

I have FCC ID#: H83LEC-8R....the Alarm has Xtreme XS-100 3 channel security system. Googled it and the FCC # was tied to Lee's Electronics in Alhambra CA. OUT OF BUSINESS.

So figured, I would just remove the system and bypass it. Anyone ever do this? Is this a DYI or should I just have it towed somewhere?

I have this unit I thought I had an issue with the alarm but it was the battery. I was gonna remove it but decided against. Is this stock from factory?

I have no idea. We bought the car from a PP 20 years ago. The alarm system was already installed. Only issue was the FOB batteries going dead from time to time. And over the last couple of years it started slowly having issues. First all the door locks would not open, they would lock, but only the drivers door would unlock. Then recently the FOB's (2) just started failing, even with a new CR2016 battery. Tried the RS3200 programming twice, the "siren" kept going off. The engine battery is good.
