Going to pull the trigger on a 10k winch soon.

I was looking at Smittybilt and Superwinch, but am thinking better safe than sorry and I should just go with Warn. The others have some neat features, but Warn seems to be the gold standard, and with a current rebate the price is close to the other two. In fact, I could get the wire rope version for 270 shipped after rebate, and I could add the synthetic line of my choice.

I'm not going to be using it a ton, but I want it to work when I do need it.

I've had "Badlands Apex" winch from Harbor Freight for 2 1/2 years. 12,000 #. Came with syn line and a remote controller. Has a wired plug-in controller, too, just in case...It still works after 2 Wis. winters. I think I paid $550.
But damn, a Warn for that price? Too good of a deal to not get it.

Had a Warn on my King quad and cannot complain, I am aware it is not in the same class, but on my platform, I had zero issue when pushed hard. It was used....

That's what I have, and it's saved my ass a bunch over the last few years. If I were in the market again, I'd buy it again. 0 hiccups, and it lives outside all year in Wisconsin. It's been through countless carwashes and exposed to all kinds of conditions.

That said, the Badlands Harbor freight winches mentioned by @Stoney Ranger are pretty popular in our group, and seem to be the ultimate value option.

These would be my first two choices, unless money wasn't an object.

This. The Badlands winch is superb especially for the price. Not to mention Warn uses Chinese parts just like the Badlands. They currently have it for 549 with synthetic rope.

OP for that price that's pretty damn good. Would get synthetic rope though for sure. Much easier to use and is a lot safer.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I ended up pulling the trigger on the Warn. Definitely going to go with synthetic line before I install it.

Congrats! I have the same Warn EVO10. You chose wisely.

I’ve had the evo 10s for years. The reality is, most this shit is from China and if I were looking to save money, I’d have gone with the harbor freight winch. Matt’s off road recovery has used one for a long time, with heavy use, and never had an issue.

His videos were the reason I even considered a Harbor Freight winch.

Originally I thought that was the winch that I was going to get. I also follow MORR and a lot of the other YouTubers that are using them, and it's pretty impressive what they do with them.

If the Warn hadn't been such a good deal, I may have ended up going with the Badlands.
