The 4Runner father is wondering why it looks like the Tacoma milkman. The Sequoia wife swears that she has never been with the milkman and it's the 4Runner's baby.

If the above picture is correct.... it doesn't look bad.

Agreed I think it looks good. Not sure why all these newer models coming out in general have black plastic around wheel wells. Scratch that lightly and no buffing that out.

The rear end of this model to me reminds me of Jeep Grand Cherokee. I like this a lot more than the others that look like a Bronco though.

I'm slightly confused as to why there's still speculation on what it will look like. Didn't toyota release the confirmed look during the super bowl commercial? At least that's what I saw....

That was the Sequoia. Toyota has released nothing at all about a 6th Gen 4Runner.

Eh, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I do agree that the front end is very Tacoma looking. The rear side profile looks pretty good, and I like the profile of the hood from the side view as well.

Quite honestly, my Gen 5 is a beautiful vehicle to me, so this render isn't adding much, but it certainly doesn't look as bad as some previous renderings.

    Guarantee its not legit.

Tires outside the wheel wells won't fly in some states.

And if it makes you guys feel any better. My friend who is a salesman at Toyota said the Tacoma is redesigned for 2024.

Not sure about black plastic, but my '03 SR5 had gray plastic cladding around the wheel wells and the lower doors, and tied into the bumpers. It was actually pretty awesome not having to worry about stone chips and door dings. I might like an option like that for an off-road model.

Correct. In Wisconsin, we're allowed 2" beyond the factory fenders. But, I prefer to keep my tires in the fender if possible. Having the truck caked in mud looks cool. But the stone chips would be brutal!

Looks like someone slapped a Toyota grille on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Let's hope not.

This is the current Sequoia TRD Pro (extra lights), not a 6th gen 4runner.
I hope it's not like the Sequoia because that would mean no more roll down back window and an oversized grille.

I think the giant grilles are just becoming a thing we have to expect now. Seems like all of the newer Toyota and Lexus models have them.

Did that plastic help retain water near the wheel well at all? I am no engineer but i would think the plastic my hold some mositure and encourage rust? Maybe I am wrong though?

Not that I had noticed. I traded it in in 2017 with 257,000 miles on it, and no sign of any body rust. And, I did not take good care of it.

Also, we all have plastic fender flares on the current generation already. They're just painted to match the body.

Not sure why anyone thinks any of the renderings floating around are legit. This one looks like a pic of a Sequoia. Toyota is notoriously tight lipped about new vehicles. The first real shots we'll see will be spy shots where the vehicle is wrapped in the famous black/white camo pattern and on test track or out in the wild. Or we get shots directly from Toyota marketing in which case every Auto Media site will report on it.

really hope they do vertical taillights again, the Sequoia's minivan-inspired horizontal taillights really kill the look of that truck.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
    Major miss….no 4R trademark B pillar.
