Hello all, new to the forum. Just replaced the alternator on my wife’s 2016. What a pain. It can be done with the right tools. Definitely need a long extension with a swivel to remove the bracket on the rear of the alternator. Also you will need to remove the driver’s side wheel. Took about 2.5 hours. Dealer wanted $850, so saved a ton of cash.

Congratulations! I don't think there's any way I could do it that fast. I'd probably have two hours of breaks to stop and think, or stop and calm down.

Cussing didn't work? Do they not rebuild alternators at dealer anymore?

Nah, probably would have raised the price or they would have found something else to charge me for!

Price one online. I know waterpump is $127. I didn't think about alternator. I have never replaced one.

    Paid $285 for a 130 amp alternator at Oreilly’s.
