My 23 TRD ORP strangely did not come with any kind of running boards, and this bugged me. Feeling like I was missing out on an obvious option, I went on FB Marketplace and bought TWO different sets of 4R running boards, and after I got home, realized I didn't like either set (They were used and my truck is 1 week old to me today) so I was like SHOOT.

Ended up buying the "trail" running boards OEM from a Toyota Dealer and they came today.

So with everybody removing their running boards that came installed on their 4R when they purchased it, AITA for doing the opposite and installing them? Should I sell my 4Runner and get a Corolla hatchback? Am I going to lose a star off my 4Runner man card? :annoyed:
In my mind, I can see them protecting the rockers - I live on dirt/gravel roads and also in the salt belt. Can somebody give me the Pros to having running boards so I dont go crazy, Thanks. lol

    Oooh look, another mod.....
Sell the 4Runner and get a Tesla! JK.

I don't know why people like to take them off. I love my predator steps. Mine don't hang too low so they barely affect ground clearance. They also act as a protector from other car doors dinging me in parking lots.

Thankfully the dealership installed them and they were included in the price. Sell the ones you don't want on this site (once your account hits the 30 day mark).
