Truck is running way rich and backfires occasionally when starting. Also very hard to start some times. I've swapped the AFM with a spare I have and truck will start fine but run like poop like it's not getting enough fuel. I was looking at my current AFM and noticed the ears where the pigtail clip on to are gone. If I physically hold the connection together the truck runs wells and starts fine. Here's the kicker, the motor is out of an unknown year pickup and the ECU is out of an 85 I believe. My plan was to use the year 85 when getting a new AFM to match the sensor and ECU years. I know there is a cutoff year for AFMs but not sure what they are. As long as the AFM is the same year as the ECU I should be good right?
