    Hi everyone,

I have a 2022 SR5 Premium. This is a daily driver that I don't off road. Love the truck but I wish the rocker panels (I think this is the name of the part - its the trim that would be between the bottom of the car and the running boards) were extended down lower limited. Is it possible to buy a set of limited panels and add them to the SR5 and still have running boards?

There are some running boards that will fit the Limited rocker panels, but boy do they hang low. Most people with the Limited style rocker panels want them up higher, and have to trim those rocker panels to have running boards/rock rails installed. Yours is the first request I've seen that prefers the lower rocker panels, but whatever works for you...those lower style rocker panels also have different end caps to match up with the fender trim, and may not work with your SR5. You may also find a member on here who's removed those Limited rocker panels and have them available, depending on the color of your SR5.

You should have no problem finding someone to swap parts with you.

That lower section on the Limited and the Xreas suspension, which has wiring on the inside of it, are why most rock sliders for 4Runners won't fit the Limited without modification. I bought a set by Metal Tech that will fit the Limited with altering it. I will have a set of factory running boards that I'll sell very cheap if you are close enough to me (western North Carolina) to pick them up, but I can't help you with the lower area of trim which I gather is what you're most interested in. I stopped by the local Toyota dealer used car and parts departments to see if they would give me anything for the running boards after they come off, and they weren't interested. I thought they might want to buy them for $50 or $100 and put them on a used 4Runner on their lot.
