Looking at all the threads on the level kits, I get the general impression after installing a 2” level spacer on top of the strut, the actual lift will be 3” due to the new geometry of the suspension parts.

    ?

    thanks for you attention.

    No, a 2” spacer gets you 2”.

So depending on what you are doing you could be a little higher at first. Your car will take a few days/weeks (depending on how often you drive) to settle. If you measure after that you should be around 2”. Again it all depends but generally speaking 2” is 2”.

This happens with suspension lifts where coils and springs may take some time to settle after install, as mentioned by @GrantA.
Maybe there’s some hidden science I’m not aware of though.

I did a 2” cornfed spacer kit and got 2” of lift. But, the provided spacer I put in between the coil spring and top hat was not 2”. I don’t think it even equaled two inches when combined with the spacer above the top hat, but I could be wrong.

It sounds like you’re trying to say that putting a 2” thick spacer inside the strut will equal more than 2” of lift, which may be true, but from what I’ve seen, most 2” spacer kits only lift 2”.

Ok, makes sense..we'll see...just ordered a 2"/1" level kit from Rough Country.

An advertised 2" spacer usually means you'll get 2" of lift, not that the spacer is 2" thick. It's usually a 2:1 ratio of thickness to lift height.
