AC problem after replacing switch

    2000 4 runner
    have a electrical problem on my 2000 4runner sr5
    oem ac switch was broken so got a replacement switch....
    pulled old switch out slide the replacement switch in.... turned on key and pushed ac button ... smelled hot for a second ..tried a different switch no power at switch...checked underhood fuse and 10 amp fuse was blown replaced fuse with new and still no ac light ....checked at fuse box under hood and have no power on either side of 10 amp fuse I have checked other fuses and all good HELP
    everything else all works fine only dead fuse is the one marked ac

    Is your ignition switch on when you test the AC fuse?

    It appears the wiring diagram shows that it needs to be on.

    Oh, and the blower motor will need to be set to low at least. Then 12v should be at that 10 AC fuse.
