We like the LT tires, they have been good to us, like the fact that there is a little more "beef" to the tire(10 ply), sharp rock and stone have been my enemy for a long time. Mileage is not a real concern to us, if it were, we wouldn't have bought a 4Runner!

I definitely like the idea of LT tires for wheeling. Current tires are load range C, but I'll be getting mud tires in "E" for off-road trips. Once the C range AT3's wear down, I'll probably replace them with SL rated tires for winter and longer road trips.

I used to run BFG KO2 Load E, I love it offroad with its 10ply rated tread and real 3 ply sidewall (many A/Ts have real 2 ply side wall.) even when tire was rubbing on a rock or ruts. Tire damage was my least worry. After sometime my wife didn't quit like the firm ride on road. Then I switched to BFG KO2 Load C which is like middle ground for both offroad performance and on road comfort.

For our on road vehicle we use non LT Falken Wildpeak. Very soft rubber compound compared to Load C KO2 giving good on road comfort. I feel like Falken Wildpeaks give softer ride compared to the Continental Terrain Contact A/T we had on our Toyota Venza. (Did had a chance to compare back to back as we sold it).

Anyt tire I select I look for 3 peak mountain snow flake symbol since I don't have dedicated winter tires. I run same A/Ts in winter. Both KO2 and Falken Wildpeak have 3PMSF rating.

Even though I personally like KO2 more I want to try GY Wrangler Duratrac since so many here in CO love them for its snow and offroad performance.

I put stock size Duratracs on my '08 Limited full time 4x4 about 900 miles ago. So far, I really like them in the snow and slush.
