So I was scrolling through OfferUp looking to buy a 3rd gen and came across a 97 4x4 3.4L v6 sr5 for 1500! But the downside is that it has a blown head gasket. The rest of the truck is in mint condition, from the paint to the carpet on the inside. Owner said when it ran it ran great and smooth. Is it worth fixing up?

Definitely! If that’s all that’s wrong with it, haha. A head gasket is no big deal.

The hard part is trusting that the head gasket is the only problem. If it is, and you're mechanical enough to fix it yourself, that's an excellent deal. But, if you're going to be paying a mechanic, that could get pricey.

Can you post some pictures of the truck? Or link to an ad, if there is one?

    And, Welcome to the forum!

That’s the link to the 4Runner and thank you for the warm welcoming lol. But yes me and my dad are both mechanically capable of doing so.
