I've been reading and watching a lot of You-tube trying to wrap my head around this issue. Bought this 92 3Vz for my son almost 2 years ago. I also have a 2014 4 Runner which has been a very reliable vehicle. Ok here goes, problem is when put in drive engine will stall at approximately 15 mph every time. Initially it would hiccup and make it past that point.. It will at times die then catch itself and runs perfect after that same rpm. Now, if I manage to get past the stalling it will cut out on the downside at approximately 15-20mph. Please help if you've heard this one? I have a pretty good laundry list of things I've found wrong and corrected to this point..

Did I mention that it only happens under load? Runs like a sewing machine in park or neutral and in drive it will always stall at the same RPM.

I've gone through the entire fuel system. No codes. FP Reg. TPS. Fuel Filter replaced. We took it to 2 well known shops here and they couldn't figure it out either. All new tune up parts. All vaccum lines nee and no leaks. Cleaned TB and MAF

I'm thinking EGR system or Circuit Open Relay

Anyone have this problem b4?I removed the fuel pump relay and to my surprise, it actually doesn't stall anymore. Go figure. So I've always thought that a car wouldn't even start let alone run without it in. Any help on this would be much appreciated..

How can it run without a fuel pump relay? Does not compute.

I'm guessing you have electrical troubleshooting to do in your future.

My money is on the circuit opening relay. We overhauled our entire engine and replaced countless relays only to have the drivability issue when it got hot after about 10 minutes of driving. Finally changed the circuit opening relay and she drives as she should.

I'm wondering if I have the same issue. Mine happens at more like highway speed, after the engine has warmed up a little, It will just stall out, RPM gauge drops to zero and warning lights come on the dash and then after a second or two it will come right back on. took it to my mechanic and he thought it was a fuel filter problem, so he changed that, but then when I picked it up, and got on the highway, it actually stalled out and died and been unable to restart. After letting it sit awhile, it started right back up again. Then he put it on the code reader and it was coming up as a bad cam sensor which is in the distributor, so he changed that, and the ignition coil, and distributor cap, but the problem is not fixed. It's still happening.
