Just saw driving sports Tv review of 6th gen with moon roof. This is such a massive fail, he literally can not move his head in second row forward without it hitting the bump on roof to accommodate the roof.

I thought 5th gen was bad and therefore didn’t get one with moon roof but 6th gen is a complete fail!

That front air dam will be ripped off the first time you park over a taller parking curb stop.

He certainly says a lot of words per minute.... Like the video, he was well informed of the info and specs and presented it very well. Good talker, laid everything out well, went over the vehicles well. White Limited with brown leather and auto running boards would be my pick at best looking 6th gen package but the super sonic red definitely was stunning. Prefer the Platinum black wheels but i'm not a huge fan of the blue interior. Maybe in the coming years they'll offer more color options for the leather in the Platinum.
Also really nuts how trashed the back seat area in the Platinum was. Looked like kids had been jumping on the seats with dirty feet. Huge dirt prints on the back of the console. Floorboards on all trims were all bare, no mats, so the wet dirt footprints were getting imbedded in the carpet. Gave me the ick a few times.

Most of the people I see driving 2024 Tacomas have removed that air dam. Toyota could have made that just a wee bit smaller, ya think?

If it is to be removed then might as well make it as big as possible to gain extra .1 mpg on the EPA highway test.

Maybe yall should just be shorter and not worry about head room! Lol. FYI I'm 6ft and hubby is 6'2 so headroom is a thing for us too.

Next thing they'll be saying is to pay more for an extended roof. Like the 70s conversion vans.

If I bought one of these, the first thing I'd do upon getting it home is to unbolt that air dam.

In that first video. Posted I liked how he did a 0-60. But 8 seconds is kinda disappointing isn't it?

That checks out with the motor week review of the LC250 that clocked in at 8.1 seconds to 60, at 3:54 here.

    It's what it is.

The second video with the Maroon limited model. That guy is running a race tech box. He got 6.8 and 6.6 0-60 out of the limited hybrid electric/gas setup. He speculates the non hybrid would be 8.0ish

The guy reviewing the red one acknowledged at 26:30 and 31:47 both runs were "slightly" downhill, and on the 2nd try he also brake torqued it before launching.

We once had a 2014 Silverado parked over top of one of these parking curbs, upon backing out (a slight uphill) the weight transfer was just enough to squat the front end to rip off the air dam, I think GM wanted $350 to replace, so ya, watch those air dams and where you park!

Yeah, i heard him say that but you're not scrubbing a bunch of time off that beluga whale with a "slight" downhill. 1-3% grade isnt enough to make a major difference. Something like 5-10% would be measurable but in the video you can see he was on "relatively" flat ground.

He even acknowledged that other reviews of the same drivetrain showed about 7.8 seconds which is still faster than most reviews I have seen. So how does he get a time over 1.2 second faster than everyone else, including that 6.6s run which is 1.4 seconds fast than the first reviewer with the terra color TRD Pro?

That road he was on was a mountain road. If you drive mountain road a lot you would be familiar with how grades can be very visually deceptive if your reference points are cut outs in hills. No one knows if that's a 1% grade or a 10% grade without a coordinate.

He was testing the Limited which has pizza cutter skinny street tires
The TRD Pro and TRD OR had 265 nittos
This i suspect is a bigger factor, back in my drag race days, my drag slicks were a half second faster than my stock 265 bridgestones, my stock 265 bridgestone tires were a solid second and a half faster than my 285 BFG AT tires.
Tire diameter, and weight play a massive factor in drag racing. Slight downhill as he said, was most likely a slight grade, minimal but measurable change but not like he was pointed downhill on a 7% mountain slope.

So you think tires on a 4R can explain up to 1.5 seconds in 0-60 times? Okay. Whatever you say, bud. It's not like that motorweek review I listed for the LC250 that has identical powertrain and same weight uses street tires or anything.

I am shorter. But I still hit the head, I decided I don’t want the moon roof. It doesn’t get used at all and if you hit your head in second row, that makes it easier decision to not have it.

You don't have to be super tall to hit the ceiling, just a long torso.

I'm not a huge guy but my head hits the roof of the 5th gen all the time getting in and out with the seat lowered all the way. Unfortunately Toyota likes to make the moonroof decision for you so it's not up to the buyer for the most part.

I’m wondering how it compares to before, I know the Tacoma has more headroom in general this generation but so far it seems like the 6th gen sunroof is a negative for the second row but what about the front passengers? Same, worse, better than before? (If I get a chance to sit in one I’ll let y’all know)
