    I prefer running boards to be functional as a step and add bit more protection to the side of the body when traveling on gravel roads. I used Aries black color aluminum ones which gave mine a better look than some of the options. They were very cheap at Walmart and not sure you can get any running boards cheap these days, unless look for take off ones. (It's just my taste though, lot of people like nerf bars.)

    Welcome.

    When it comes to upgrades, it’s often useful to describe what you’ll be using the vehicle for. For example, if you’re going to do anything where you could come down on rocks or fallen trees, you definitely would want sliders (or slider steps) that are attached to the frame as opposed to something that attaches to the body of the vehicle.

    Here’s what my running boards looked like after they sacrificed themselves for the greater good. Those two holes had the bolts pull straight through and were no longer attached to the mounting bracket. Thankfully that was the point of failure, as the mounting points on the body were undamaged.
