I have a ‘98 manual 5 speed SR5. When I turn the key to on, I can see there is an indicator on the cluster for “4wd”. That light and a few others don’t illuminate when the key is turned. Are these bulbs a special color or do I just use the white ones from Amazon? I’d like to keep them as original and not do a whole led change. Is it typically a switch on the transfer case that’s the culprit ? I don’t really need the indicator but it would be nice as a reminder. Anyone been down this road before?

Changing dash lights is a pretty easy fix although it does require you to remove the dash panel. Autozone sells those little lights they possibly will have one for it. It might be best to check if the dash light is what needs changed before going into the T case switch. Just my opinion though.

    I have a 2000 auto, and when my 4WD light doesn't light...its cause the 4wd wasn't working

    does your 4WD actually engage?

4WD low would work for me, but 4wd high would not engage...

it was a bad switch, or relay...I forgot what the part was but it actuates the 4wd

My transfer case is all manually operated. It absolutely engages . No button.
I’m going to replace the bulb first and see if that is the problem.
