Anyone here have a 4th gen 4Runner that gets stuck in park every day and then a cluster of three lights on the console come on and off all the time (VSC, ABS, VSC TRAC OFF)? I have to manually override it and put it in drive and the lights stay on for about 5-10 miles and the lights shut off before I can make it to a Toyota service shop. They can’t read codes if the lights aren’t on. So frustrating. No check engine light either. This happens every day and it started a few weeks ago. The car runs and drives normally other than those issues. Trying to figure out what it could be. I’ve already switched out the brake light switch and the gas cap as I was told these could be related.

Could be transmission range selector. Really though you should have the codes read with a scanner capable of seeing ABS/drivetrain codes. A regular scanner may not see them. The gas cap would throw a small EVAP leak code and the brake lights switch would mean your brake lights didn't work. It's better to get a proper diagnosis before throwing parts at it.

I'd check the neutral safety switch.
