Was previously posted. Either way, that Bronco folded pretty good. 4R wasn't too far behind.

Not a super realistic simulation with the Tacoma being bigger than a full size truck, but entertaining. Hopefully not too accurate since I drive a Silverado for work.

Computer simulation. That’s 100% CGI. Curious who built that model. But definitely not “actual” vehicles.

It’s a PC game called Beam NG. It can simulate structures based on rod and node construction, where each node and rod can be given any tensile or compressive strength desired, or any level of malleability. Think tube frame construction with graphic “skins” over the top of the rod/nodes, in order to make it look like a body panel, frame member…really anything.

It’s a fascinating game/simulation, but everybody should realize game modders can make a structure/car as strong or weak as they want. You cant take these game videos as actual predictions of how a particular vehicle will behave in a crash, because it totally depends on how the modder built the structure.

This game started out 10-15 years ago as “Rigs of Rods”. People would totally nerd out on building super detailed structures/vehicles, and it has improved a ton since then. The only problem is that building a vehicle from scratch took years for a hobby level player. But ever since youtube, it’s taken off as a crash simulator, using the same or modified copy/paste structures with different skins.

Too bad Ford hasn't figured out how to actually build the darned thing. Their ordering process is a huge mess and dealers are refusing to lower prices with in stock units that don't move, and they can't even build the 2 door, base, sasquatch, or the manual variants. Basically all the fun configurations cannot be built and you have to get a 4 door auto with most likely markup if you can find one in stock. At that point it's no brainer to get a 4R.
