Getting ready to hire a reliable mechanic to do a bunch of maintenance to my gen 4 V8 and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for me as to what I should have done other than what I already had planned. As of now he’s doing:
    - timing belt
    - coolant flush + thermostat
    - transmission fluid
    - spark plugs and spark plug wires
    - water pump
    Thanks!

If you're doing the trans fluid may as well go ahead and throw in the transfer case and diffs

Without any information as to what might've already been done, all things to touch on a most likely 150k plus engine and drivetrain:

    -All that you mentioned
-what Great White mentioned + wire mesh 'filter' behind trans oil pan
    -serpentine belt
    -power steering fluid
    -brake fluid
-check brake pads, replace if needed
    -air filter
-lube all zerks you can get your hands on for the drivetrain. your manual tells you what grease goes where
-chassis grease on all the metal things rubbing against other metal things

Right on I’ll have the differential fluid changed too.

Previous owner only had the vehicle for about two months and all he did was engine oil and replaced all brake pads.
I do my own oil changes and did that less than 1k miles ago. I do see a worn out sticker in the engine bay that says timing belt was changed at 90k miles and unknown if it has been changed since so obviously getting that done.
    Thank you for your suggestions!
