4 Cylinder Engine Questions + bumper swap

Bought my first car 2 weeks ago. It is a 97 4runner with a 5 speed, the past owner did an under coat and the vehicle has been taken care of for the most part. It unfortunately has the 4 cylinder engine which I know nothing about except that it feels woefully under powered. How hard is it to do a an engine swap to the 6 cylinder engine that came on the limited models?

Also, unrelated, I want to replace my grey bumpers that came with the base model 4runners with the chrome bumpers that came on the sr5 trim. Is it as easy as removing the screws that hold on my bumper on and putting on the new chrome bumper?
