37's fitted on 2025 4Runner! Too big or just right?

    Looks good to me.

But 99% of the people don't "need" it.

Fills those ridiculous square wheel wells pretty good...
ECGS or Yukon have some gears out for the 6th Gen yet?

If 0-60 its 8 seconds with 33s its what 20 seconds with 37s, and probably gets that hybrid 8mpg.

    Does look cool though.

Would probably look better with body colored fender flares. In these pics it looks like the fenders are about to pinch the wheels. Still might be too much tire.

I’m not a fan of those yellow wheels at all. The black ones look good though. There doesn’t seem to be much clearance with the white part of the bumpers though. Especially in the back.

Agreed. I really don't care for the black fender flares, at least in pictures. I'll have to go look at one in person when they hit dealers.

I prefer the Methods, the gold wheels dont do it for me but some people wanna be BroDozers and they can do whatever they want.
37s are stuffed, looks like the should rub like hell unless you have gutted the inner fender and all trim. The rears barely fit, its almost touching the fender on the front and back side of the wheel well. Thats what you call stuffed, for sure. Gonna need 5.29s at minimum and realistically 5.71s to make it pull like it should.

Looks like stock rear height, maybe a 1" spring?
Looks like +2.5" front, maybe a spacer lift, maybe a set of coilovers?
There is plenty of articulation available, how much can it use without rubbing is to be seen. 37s are a whole lotta tire to stuff under it for sure.

The 6th gen comes with 3.58's. 4.56 more than compensates for the 20% increase in circumference with 37's. I could see going to 4.88 or even 5.29 for improved performance. But, with 5.71's, the engine would be screaming on the freeway.

Edit: I'm certainly not the expert on regearing. I know that people like to go a little beyond just compensating for the circumference to help with added rotating mass. I just think 5.71 seems like it would be excessive.

I had a 22RE in a regular cab 89, and put a 4" lift on it with some tweaks and ran Mickey Thompson 35x17.50s on it and ran 5.29s and on a big uphill climb i needed to shift to 4th.
I then tweaked it more and ran the Mickey Thompson 39x18.50 and went with 5.71s and it didnt have enough at all, 5th was almost useless. I ran everywhere with 4th screaming and could still lose MPH on any climb on the highway.

The 37s are like 22% bigger than stock, so you would "think" that you need to add 22% more gear and you would be back to stock. In theory that math "maths" out but in the real world it dont. You need to do whatever the math says, and subtract 2" of tire. Example:

    stock tire at 31.5 + 20% = 37.8"
    stock gearing at 4.11 + 20% = 4.93
The math says if you ran a 4.93 then you would be back to stock with a 37" tire BUT.... You wont be and you will struggle to pull that tire.

Yes, but the 6th gen has 3.58 gears. 4.56 is a 27% increase, and 4.88's are a 36% increase. So, you're already way beyond compensating for the gearing.

As I said, I understand going a little beyond to compensate for the extra weight of the tires, but I still think 5.71's would be overkill.

Also, the 22R-E made less than half as much power as the T24A. Those things were dog slow with stock tires. Heck, I had a 2nd gen V6, and it was a dog.

I really think the fender flares and bro lean are making it look weird. I'd like to see one with a little more rear lift and matching fender flares.

But, I do think 37's look weird on a 5th gen, from the pictures I've seen. 33-35 looks just right.

Put 37’s on a 3rd gen and they stand out.

Turn driver side when it is fully tucked in and see what happens. I think you need some plastic surgery and a Viper Cut :)

I saw an interesting video somewhere that noted when you have huge tires, regearing will help the engine, trans, TC, driveshafts, and diffs, but they do nothing to change the increase in torsional stress on CV axles and drive axles. When tires get this big, you probably should start to worry if axles are going to snap like dry spaghetti noodles just by stepping on the gas too hard. Regearing at the diff will just increase the ability to torque-snap the CVs.

The only thing that would protect the entire drivetrain from behemoth tires like this, is to regear at the wheels. AKA: Portals baby!!!

Remember deep gears are "weaker" too. You don't want too many teeth.
