Is it okay to use 3/8" drive (breaker, torque) for rear diff plugs?

I know correct socket size is 24mm (6 point) @ 36 ft lb.
The few posts that mention drive size usually says they're using 1/2" drive.
Is that just because most don't have a 26mm in 3/8" drive?
Seems like a 3/8" torque wrench would be more accurate than 1/2" in this low torque range.

Just want to make sure that 3/8" is going to be robust enough to remove and replace fasteners without any issues. Will use PB blaster and have breaker bar. Not planning on using any adapters. Will get true 24mm 3/8" socket. Open to getting 1/2" setup if that's the right thing to do.

    What do you think?

I've used 1/2" to 3/8" adapters to torque Ford truck wheel lug nuts to 165 ft-lbs.
