New guy here. Just picked up a '22 SR5 2WD. Took me a while to find one here in the PNW. This one came from southern Arizona.
I've been wanting to build a 2wd dune cruiser for a while. Im coming from a '16 Tacoma 4wd m/t, and '17 Tundra 4wd. Limitations for the front suspension on both of those trucks were the CV's when trying to keep stock track width.
2wd won't have that issue obviously, but I'm also thinking I can run a standard 8in stroke coilover instead of the typical tacoma/4runner coilover with extension to clear the axles.
This should give more flexibility in travel range.

A King 4runner coilover has a stroke length of 5.3", compressed length of 17.3", and extended length of 22.63".

A king 2.5x8 coilover has a stroke length of 8", compressed length of 16", and extended length of 24".

So obviously more travel is possibly obtained in both directions, but also the fact it can run a longer spring, or dual rate, which would allow more tuning options.

So this is all hypothetical at this point as I'm still measuring things out, and in the planning phase.
Has anyone seen a 5th gen set up this way?
