After consulting with the dealership and they said they didnt recommend the modification and after having been told at one shop the install was not possible, i am happy to report that the install was possible, love the look of my vehicle and i have not have any issues.
They indeed are noisier, and by that i mean that a little humming sound is noticeable when in motion however nothing annoying. They do slightly rub when i turn to the max to the left, but funny enough i dont hear anything when i do the same to the right.
I also purchased without knowing at the time that i chose to buy LT (light truck) rated tires instead of P (passenger). I was told the ride was not going to be a smooth one. Again i have no problems with it.

The tires i went with are the TOYO Open country C/T LT275/55/r20.
I doubted at some point if the tires would fit, would look any good but i can totally recommend these tires so far.
Got great advice and confidence from looking at others in this forum. For that, thank you!

They look so much better than those skinny 245s.

I have 275/55R20 Falken Wildpeaks. My Limited only got around 3500miles right now and interested what would be the selling price for wheels and tires without TPMS sensors. Planning to buy 17" wheels and tires.

Looks great! Love the wider tire look. Any rubbing issues?

That looks great! I really like the tread design of those tires too.

Yeah, they have little mud guards in the back of the front tire well, i think its rubbing a bit with one of them when i fully turn to the left. I think if i get rid of the mud guard, problem will go away! :)

Im still a newbie in the 4runner community but I find it odd that I see so many people saying this tire size is an issue. I just bought my 2016 about a week ago and it came with tires that size. I would have never known anything different until I started googling tire size. Anyways looks good, cant wait to get a more aggressive tread myself.

Getting this size for my trd sport today and some new wheels as well. I had some rubbing issues with this size 275/55/20 in the front and back of the plastic lining. Had to do some trimming. But worked good.

I put in the bfg trail terrain tires.

I ended up getting a lift on it and changing the tires out to the all terrain ko2s.

I am running 275 with 20" OEM for my winter set up. No issues except some rubbing that I had. Had to do the heat gun for the front fender liner, and took off some of the splash guard pieces.

Hi everyone, well thanks to this post I could install it on my 2014 toyota 4Runner limited 275/55R20 cooper discoverer all terrain with no rubber but I’m thinking to add 1.25” wheel spacer and I’m afraid that it could start to rubbing on it

Also some pictures of before and after with cooper discovery all terrain tires

I recently put 275/55-20s on my '23 Limited. They fit the wheel just fine, the tire pattern gives it a more agressive look. I added the no-drill splash guards, and they fit perfectly.

it’s look very nice man! Are you thinking to put 1.25 wheels spacer?

No, not a fan of spacers. Besides, they'd move the tire outside the splash guards, which would defeat the purpose of having them...

I just upgraded my Limited to 275s yesterday. I installed the Yokohama Geolander X- ATs. I love how they look vs the stock 245s. Now here comes story time:

First, I dropped my Limited off at 7am for the tires and alignment. I was told “It should be ready by Noon.” I didn’t hear anything but didn’t care since I WFH and live within walking distance to the shop. At 4pm I still hadn’t heard anything. I called for an update since they close at 5pm and was told ”They just started working on it.” 47 minutes later the shop calls and tells me “It’s ready.”

Second, I only drove home and parked. Today I was able to drive more and see that the steering wheel is in the same crooked position as it was when I dropped it off. I called the shop and they are telling me they completed the alignment.

What does everyone think? Did they do the alignment or not. I think not. Note: They didn’t provide me with a copy of the before and after alignment specs. I called today right after I received a follow up text asking how my service went. When I stated my concern and that I didn’t receive those specs I was told “We don’t give those out unless the customer asked for them.” I was always under the impression those were given to show proof that the work was completed. Also, should the PSI be at 55?
