Has anyone run a narrower tire on their 4R. I'm looking at 235/80 17. Same diameter but about 1" narrower. Any thoughts?

Seems to be an uncommon selection. I liked my 255/85R16's on my Taco. I suspect the 255/80R17 would behave similarly well, and going a bit smaller all around would probably drive fine. Going a bit narrower and closer to OEM height would result in good straightline driving I'm sure. Why not go taller?

No reason they wouldn't fit. I run 255/80R17's and love them.

    Get 255 75/17.... I'd say 235s are to narrow.
