I,m Robert out of North Ga. First toyota product for us and would like to install brush gaurds.
Can front sensors be deleted without dash warnings going off, So far no one in this area has one to fit unless I install a winch which I don't need. Have driven vehicles for over 50yrs without sensors, don't need them now.
    Thanks Robert Cumming Ga.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
If sensors are disabled or malfunctioning, the ECU will detect a discrepancy between expected sensor readings and actual readings, which is flagged as a system error. To summarize: No, you cannot do what you want. If you disable/alter/damage the sensors your dash will light up like a Christmas tree.

Hi, and welcome. You didn't need to start two different threads for the same question. Be patient. Somebody will eventually answer.

solid question, my 18 does not have that sensor. others will chime in with options or answers. I hope that doesn’t keep you from enjoying your awesome Toyota.

I’ve always wondered if these types of things - that is, electrical do-dads that interact with the ECU - can be unplugged and substituted with a resistor or something.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Brush guard a necessity? Or for appearance? Have one custom made, you'll have the first one that works with sensors.
