Hey thanks for the add. I’ve got a nice looking 2021 Venture I’m starting to build on. I need new tires so curious what I should do. Do I go the way of a lift and do it right or just get tires that will fit and add some size.

    Welcome to the forum!

If you just want a more aggressive look, I'd look at stock size all terrains with a beefy sidewall. This can give the appearance of a larger tire without killing your fuel economy.

Otherwise, if you really want lift, and bigger tires, there are a ton of options depending on how you plan on using your 4Runner.

Stock size ATs are significantly cheaper, that's all I can say. I run 275/70s, load range C on my Falken Wildpeaks. I don't believe in putting in the amount of effort it takes to really fit 285s (who knows what a panhard bar is lol)

This is the question that gets so many different opinions so here’s mine…

I put stock size BFG K02’s in C load on my 2021 TRD OR and am very happy with them.

I did not upgrade to a larger size to avoid all of the things that come with a larger size such as: higher cost, rubbing issues, gear hunting at highway speeds, slower acceleration, longer breaking distance, lower fuel economy and a heavier tire for my old back to have to lift.

A 285-70-17 gives you only 1/2” of extra ground clearance over 265-70-17 so you will have to decide if the “look” and extra ground clearance of a 285-70-17 (nice look) is worth the issues that come with them….

OK, that’s my opinion. Let the folks who have 285’s chime in….

    Cheers,
    Bob

I have 285's, and also a set of 295's, and I support this message.

Welcome from the center of the bourbon universe.

I put stock size Pirelli Scorpion AT's on mine. I'm really happy with them.
