My neighbor let me drive his 2024 Tundra Hybrid 4WD earlier this Sunday afternoon. It was the first time I ever got a chance to drive any of these new gen Tundras. I put on 15 miles behind the wheel. Top speed was 65 MPH.

Accelleration was brisk, but I by no means hammered on the thing. He was with me, lol. I have to say that I was a tad disappointed with the Tundra overall, favoring my 2022 T4R, and believe it or not, I would even favor my ex 2006 Tundra.

I didn’t care for, or maybe just wasn’t used to, the feel of the steering. And, it didn’t seem to turn as sharp as my T4R as best as I could tell. We went in to a couple store parking lots to run errands while I was driving. The inside rear view mirror was a video view, which I felt unused to, and just seemed unnatural, or goofy. I wasn’t used to the overall handing of the Tundra compared to my T4R. The Tundra just felt bulky and cumbersome to me. I guess it would all just take some getting used to I suppose.

I was glad to finally have a chance to drive the new gen Tundra, but I am in no means tempted to run out and trade my ‘22 T4R for one, that’s for dang sure.
