I'm feeling really good this morning after seeing the prices for the new 4runners. The 25 Pro is $11k more than the 24 model. Is Toyota pricing the average buyer out of the market? I know I won't be buying another new 4runner.

I don't know how people can afford anything anymore with prices and interest the way they are. I overpaid for my 2019 in 2021. But had to have one since we sold our house and moved out of state. Plan on keeping mine until the wheels fall off.

Much like full-size trucks, buying a new 4Runner is now going to assume a dealer discount, and will require even longer finance terms from customers who trade their Gen5.

Which is why it’s even more important now that Gen6 remains extremely reliable, and maintains high residuals, two concepts that we don’t normally associate with discounts, and turbocharging.

Paid $45k new for mine this past summer, woke up this morning feeling like I won the lottery.

Pro is being pitched as the halo trim this time around, with price premiums from both the upgraded suspension and hybrid powertrain.

I can see a more hardcore edition being offered later, with the suspension seats from the Tacoma Pro and rear seat delete like the GR Corolla.

Going by tradition, there will probably be a substantial facelift for 2029 that'll depress the residuals for 2025-2028. :D

Have the 6th Gens hit the market yet? Not seeing any locally.

Not yet, I've heard February or later. I figured the prices would increase like the Tacomas. The new Pro is $11k more than the 24.

Yeah I am grateful to have got one more 24 at end of September. Have her tucked away with 31 miles on the clock until spring time.

I think they will lose a lot of sales. Most 4Runners are getting used for commuting and soccer mom duties. At these crazy prices why not look at something nicer like an Audi or BMW?

I got a pretty good deal on my 4r when I got it. Getting one now is gonna hurt haha. Though no one is happy about the steep price jump of the new gen Toyotas, personally, I believe it's understandable to increase prices a bit when you include fairly a decent amount of new tech and inflation. The previous gen 4r has been somewhat affordable because of it's outdated tech and underpowered yet proven engine but, we can't expect an msrp $20k 6th gen 4r sr5 4x4 lol.

That is the sad part, the simplicity was the appeal and draw for many of us. To me it was amazing the sales figures for such an old tech simple vehicle. I am not sure what other company may have done that after all those years of one generation. At those sales figures I would have kept making the same thing. All the engineering, tooling costs etc was paid for for years and the thing had to have been pure profit. Now I guess those costs get spread over the redesign with the Tacoma though

Maybe I a just getting older though and like change less

Start of production is shown as March on fleet ordering sites. This would be a paper launch.

The Pro was always going to price out the average buyer. What Toyota saw was that despite its dealers adding 5-20k markup to the 5th gen Pros, somehow enough buyers either had the cash or wanted it bad enough to finance it to keep TRD Pros in short supply. Toyota would be dumb to NOT raise the price on the Pros by that margin.

In June I picked up my 23 Pro with 9k miles for $49k. I thought it was a lot, but now I'm feeling pretty good about it.

Sold my '24 today for ~$4.5k over MSRP. Planned on keeping it long term, but money talks and we still have the GX.

TRD PRO 50% more than what I paid for 2019 TRD PRO. No Thanks. I know my salary didn’t go up 50%.
