...for the Tacoma, it will be solar octane (the 2022 tundra trd pro color) so good chance it will be with 4runner but they deviated this year with lime rush instead of the green tacoma pro color which I like better

I may have to think about 2023 4R if it comes it that inferno octane. That would look sweet

I was hoping for Black Cherry or Heritage Blue honestly but I’ve seen a few Tundra TRD Pros driving around in Solar Octane and it looks pretty sharp.

I was planning on grabbing a 2023 regardless. If it was Black Cherry or something like Heritage Blue my choice would be a no brainer but now it’s a bit harder to decide if I want to order Solar Octane or Super White for mine.

You might not be able to get a pro, a lot of dealers aren't taking deposits on 22 pros saying they can't fill them so everyone on the list will be rolled over to 23

I think Solar Octane would look pretty good. But, since the 4Runner is made in Japan and the Taco and Tundra in North American (different paint suppliers -
Nippon Paint Automotive Coatings in Japan and PPG's coatings in North America) ... we could still see the 2023 4R Pro in a different color other then Solar Octane.

The Tacoma and 4runner and tundra have always been the same pro color except for 2022

Presuming the 2023 4Runner Pro gets Solar Octane, how different is it from Inferno in 2015?

Something to consider as well. The color we see coming out now was actually decided about 5 years ago through two very distinct design houses. They are used in development of clothing, autos, manufacturing, home/furnishings, etc. This gives time to develop pigments and ingredients to develop what we see in the future.

With Solar Octane color you wouldn’t need to turn on your DRLs.

I think of them more as mid-life crisis colors.

I like the old inferno orange, but my biggest concern would be fading, especially one that sits outside most of the time.

My 97’ Tacoma was bright red and it was beautiful, but it started fading in less than 3 years.

You’re right slope about fading. I think the non metallic paints do more so.

I had people advise me to stay away from the Barcelona Red even which was my first choice It does look super sharp though.

Those solar octane pros will probably be 65 who knows 85k with markups.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Too loud for me, but I see how some would like it.

I saw a solar octane tundra pro in person and I don't care what anyone says it's a very beautiful color and since it's presumably the last year of the 5th gen will probably go down as the most valuable 5th gen. Has almost a salmon hue (like lunar rock it sort of morphs in different lightning) but like I said looks amazing in person

Yeah I saw a Tundra this summer that color at the dealer. It was pretty sweet. It was like a modern day Dukes of Hazzard orange with metallic paint.

Heaven forbid you need body work with one of these special colors. I would guess it’s more difficult for body shop guys to get a close match after a few years
