2022 cameras- do they record video?

My wife got a 2022 TRD Offroad premium this April.

It has the four camera system that "sees" 360 degres around the vehicle at low sped.

Does anyone know if video is being recored to the on board computer all the time?

It would be a pretty easy thing to do. Just keep recording the last minute of video on a loop and in the case of air bag deployment save it to the place where all the other info gets recorded in an air bag deployment event.

At some point I want to get one of those dash cams that does that but this is literally a 360 camera system.

They don't record.

 

It can be recorded on many vehicles equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, but only accessible by Toyota or 3rd party's. Contact Toyota to opt-in or out of the various surveillance features that are built in to your ride. Ask them if the data your 4Runner generates can be shared back with you. Check the link below:

Last I knew 4Runners come with TSS-P. That is not TSS version 3.0. More like version 1.5.
