Haven’t heard it on my Tacoma, but the hybrid explorers I drive every day do it like crazy.

I hear a low hydraulic sound coming from the pedal when I hit the break.

Sounds like the brake pad shifting.

We had a similar noise from the front. After taking the front tires off and checking nuts, bolts, everything I could think of, seems the holes on the brake pads are a bit too large and allow movement of the pads. A little dab of silicone on the pins (on the end of the pins) stopped the noise. I was going to get aftermarket pads to check if the holes on those are a closer tolerance, will do that when the pads wear out.

I’m guessing it has something to do with the brake pads. I can go over a million bumps and the suspension doesn’t make a sound. Has to be brake related. I’ll bring it up at the 5k mile service and go from there. It’s not a huge deal, but a brand new 50k vehicle shouldn’t be making weird noises at 1900 miles. It’s already been to the dealer once to have the exhaust aligned because it was rattling.

Yes, brake pads, but in the front. I brought this up at a 10K service, the service advisor said "we tried to reproduce the sound, but could not." It only would happen when shifting into drive or reverse with the brake pedal depressed, so I figured it was brake related.

Update: got under there and wiggled the rear right caliper and there is a click sound when I wiggle it. Has to be pads.
