So it all started when I changed my lower control arms. The pre collision malfunction light came on and never went out. Not even after an alignment. So I disconnected the battery and left it disconnected for a day. When I reconnected it my truck won’t start. It clicks and then nothing. I replaced the battery with a brand new one and still won’t start and only clicks. Please help!!!!

There is no guarantee that a new battery is charged. Have you checked that?

Everything else in the car does come one bright. Like the lights and such. The doors lock and unlock with the remote. I also tried using a full jump box before I got the battery and it didn’t work either. I thought maybe the jump box wasn’t strong enough but no luck

If it just clicks but lights turn on sounds to me like its a loose connection.

I’ll wire brush and sand the heck out of them in the morning. It’s dark and cold here in VA. Thanks for the reply

I drive tractor trailer and Unfortunately my 4R is in the parking lot of my work. I have to get the tools to try and figure it out. is there some kind of reset that has to take place in the system before it will start. I can’t find anything on line other than key fob restarts. Thanks for the advice though. I’ll do it when I get more tools here

^Usually if you disconnect the battery for servicing then reconnect it, the engine will crank on the first start then quickly stumble and shut off. Subsequent starts are normal.

Make sure the body ground wire from the battery negative to the fender is attached.

Charge the battery then measure the no-load voltage with a meter, should be at least 12.6V.

Your replacement battery is a 24F and not 24? Reversed polarity would be an expensive mess.

That’s what I thought. I don’t even get the first start then stall. Just a clicking noise
    I did replace with a 24f

So I made the mistake of leaving one of the leads off of the post. The starter wouldn’t engage in my case.

What do the two main wires lead to on the positive and negative sides? Is it possible I pulled a wire from its end when I disconnected the main when I disconnected it?

Don't have a wiring diagram but I mean they probably required.

Too poor to buy anything now
Hook a volt meter up to the battery and watch it while you have someone try to start it. If it drops real low in voltage, it's a bad battery.

    I’m guessing dead battery.

I don’t know what the change was but I again disconnected alll power and ground wires. Held them together to completely drain the system and reconnect them. It started right up. Thank you everyone for the help. This group is the best
