    Hello all. Newbie here.
The vehicle is for my wife. I have done some homework and searched a few threads.
Its seems there are not many options to help with the body lean in turns.
What I have found is front and rear sway bar replacement bushings by Whiteline.
Usually heavier sway bars are the easy fix, but could not find any aftermarket for this SUV.
Its new and no leveling or lift kits added. (At this time ;))

She loves her new 4 Runner. It will mostly be a pavement runner, but during hunting season she will be in the woods, which is mostly gravel/sandy roads.

    Any input would be appreciated.

Some stiffer shocks will help with the body roll and nose dive when braking.

    Welcome to the forum!

+1 to this. A shock upgrade will make a big difference.

    Front and rears?
What's a recommended brand/Type shock? Remember, its to keep my wife on 4 wheels on our very curvy roads. :D
I have already had to get her to slow down. She is coming out of a Taurus limited, or drives my F150.
I don't expect the 4 Runner to handle like either, but anything to keep it a bit more planted would be great.

Cheap option: Bilstein 5100 all around.

A good bang for the buck is the Eibach kit, or a Bilstein 6112 up front with 5100's or 5160's in back.

There are tons of other options, but it starts getting expensive and can be total overkill for most people's needs.

Many good options, hence, I'm a Dobinsons guy, very happy with it.

    Thanks all for the input.
I believe I will add the Sway bar bushings and the Bilstein 5100's all around.

I will be back home in Sept. Hopefully get it ready for her prior to hunting season.

Since you're talking about body lean in turns, shocks are not going to really help that much. Shocks control the movement of the springs. I think what you're after is addressing sway bars like you said. There are good articles out there on the internet that explain why this is so.

Stiffer coils & better shocks do the job, add Bf. Goodrich KO 2's and body roll/lean in turns gone.

The Eibach Pro Truck kit will firm up the ride, and reduce or eliminate brake dive and corner lean.

As will Eibach Pro Truck struts and shocks (kit minus the springs), for less cost, and use the stock springs.

    Excellent point.

Using the Front/Rear shocks & struts will firm up the ride and the fronts are perch adjustable so you can lift that way if you want to. The kit comes with Front/Rear shocks & struts and Front/Rear springs. The kit lifts 2.75" front & 1.0" rear, that said, IMHO, it's the ride improvement, stance & handling that is the great selling point of the kit.

That's all true. The OP did say there were currently no plans (yet) to lift or level the 4R, so I was pointing out one of the options for the least costly method of improving the body roll and lean. Should they decide on a lift, the Eibach Pro Truck complete kit would be an excellent choice.

What kind of bushings are you thinking? Watch out for polyurethane bushings, or any other material that isnt rubber, because they tend to be pretty noisy and clanky

Only if you don't lube them, or lube them with the wrong type of grease. If you use bushing specific grease, like from Energy Suspension or Prothane, you will never get squeaks. If you use wheel bearing or other grease, you will.

Would sway bar bushings be a “grease once” thing at installation, or would you have to add zerks to pump in grease periodically?

I've only done it once. I guess on a high mileage vehicle you may need to regrease them.

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
I have the full Eibach Pro Truck Lift (4 shocks 4 coils) it significantly improved the handling of my 4Runner in the curves and reduced the nosedive on braking.

Personally I would go with the full kit.
