Hello! I’m a new guy without a truck. I’ve loved the 4runner for about 20 years, but never bought one. My mom actually drives a 2003 v8 4Runner limited. Love that thing. now I’m ready for my own!

The 2022’s are delayed till October or November. my question to the group is: get a 2021 or wait for a 2022?

If it helps, I’m interested in a red limited awd. I think the big differences are bsm and cross traffic alert in the 2022.

glad to be on this forum and looking forward to finally getting a 4Runner.

October/November is just around the corner. If you've been waiting for 20 years, a few more months will be easy.

Give you time to get exactly the one you want.

Best wishes with your purchase. :)

It’s not about the wait. More like pricing and are new features really worth the wait. Will the 2022s be similar in price? Are the new features really worth the wait? Is there any advantage to waiting for 2022?

i haven’t been jonesing for 20 years, but I’ve considered getting one for a long time. :)

OP could look here to see what's in his region. Click on the Inventory link at the top of the screen. There appears to be 3 of them in my region currently.

ETA: I'd wait for a '22 OP as BSM and RCTA are very helpful in my opinion.

    Welcome.

Especially with the current inflation, it's likely a given the 2022 will cost more. As mentioned above, you might check dealers within say a 50 mile radius to ask if they have a red LTD in stock/allocation. If you have to order a LTD in Red, it will probably be at least 2 months to get delivery. The dealers may also be willing to offer a discount (?) for a LTD trim versus the TRD trims which they currently won't seem to budge on the price. Just another consideration.

The GX 460 Premium went up $180 from '21 to '22 so I wouldn't be too concerned about a large price increase. They also added a bunch of features as standard now rather than having them be extra cost.

yes. there are several 4x2s and 2 4x4s within 25 miles of me. One awd, the dealer wants $60k and I said no way! The other is several thousand less.
But yeah there are several around.

Pretty sure production on '21s are close to finished (if not already) - and finding a '21 in the wild may be a challenge.

Get hooked up with a '22 - rumor mill has it there are some additional features available for the last year model of the 5th gen.

Welcome to the forum - lots of great folks here who can help you plan your mods and spend your money. :)

Another post is listing info from Costco auto on the 2022s. It’s not complete yet, but colors for the limited And Trd pro are clickable.

If you aren't in a rush, there's no reason not to wait for a 2022 model. I sold our 2021 to Carvana but now need to replace it ASAP, so I'm trying to lock down a 2021 that's in port. The differences between '21 and '22 seem to be miniscule so I'm not too upset though.
