New here. Looking to put a lift on the wardens 2021 nightshade. We had a 2017 sr5 that had a rev tech (I think that was the name of it) done by the dealership. The 2017 got totaled and I believe the lift saved her life from the sedan that hit her.
I believe it was 3” in front and 2” rear. Which we want to go back with. Not necessarily rev tech, just want great quality. I have a local shop that has a great reputation in town that is working on a quote for me. He emailed today and said he wants to do some more research to make sure there won’t be any issues with vibration due to being all wheel drive. Sounds like they have done some nightshades before. I’m guessing nightshades are not all, full time 4 wheel drive. If they are all full time, then I might need to second guess this shop. Has anyone had any issues with vibration, or any other issues? After many many nights of searching for a black nightshade, 2months and 4 states away for the thing to arrive. I hope I am not hosed on being able to lift this thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone here likes Dobinsons and I’ve seen a bunch around here in the Bay Area (hard to miss blue coils). Icon, Toytec, and OME are also good.

    You will lose XREAS.

I think I am fine with losing Xreas system. I just talked with the shop where I am looking at having it done and he was thinking of doing a 2” in the front so we wouldn’t lose the xreas. I got the feeling that he wants me to make the decision in case there is any vibration they aren’t liable. I have seen some life’s that look like a 3 in the front and 2 in the rear. I wouldn’t think there would be an issue but want to make sure before I pull the trigger. My dumbass should have done more research before I bought this thing. But it’s what the warden wanted and it wasn’t easy to find.

I don’t understand how a lift would cause vibration. Lots of lifted limiteds on this forum without that issue.

Is that code for spacers? Xreas has been known to start leaking in the first 100k and is cost prohibitive to replace so either way you will most likely lose it at some point. I would ditch it and install a proper lift.

As @LandCruiser mentioned you will loose XREAS and then you will hunt for the onroad comfort you got with XREAS. Atleast I'm searching for the on road comfort I lost removing XREAS.

What did you change to? Making mental notes for when we have to change ours.

    Bilstien5100.

    Edit -
ELKA 2.5DC on my TRD ORP was far better than Bilstien5100 but still it wasn't able to absorb imperfections on road as stock setup. On trails its amazing, onroad is the concern.

I guess that’s where I am confused lol. If installed correctly I would think there should be no issue! Making me second guess this shop! this is the wife’s daily driver and she drives like a old lady. We live out in the sticks and deal with ice and snow every once in a wile. Plus drive over the pass a few times a year.
    thanks for the reply

Your not gonna look back when you get rid of XREAS and swap for coilovers and shocks. Took mines completely off including the lines and glad I did. Was gonna do a spacer lift but didnt want to deal with XREAS twice.

Curious as to how a lift saved her life.

A guy ran a red light at 55mph. Granted he was in a ford torus. Not sure what would have happened if she was sitting at the height this nightshade sits at. Would have been more a direct impact instead of going underneath. Now if it would have been another suv or truck, wouldn’t have mattered. Just feel safer with it a little higher. Could be wrong tho

    Thank God she is safe.

Just keep in mind lift would increase the chance of rollover.

Absolutely. That was my original fear when we got the first one. Would rather her drive a one ton truck but she ain’t going for that. I was really impressed how well the runner held up being hit that hard. She only ended up with minor whip lash.
