2020 off road trd pro grill install

I ordered the oem 2020 trd pro grill for my 2020 trd off road. My 4runner was going in for ceramic coating to the dealership so I asked them to install the grill for me since I am currently deployed. After they had my vehicle for the day they called my wife and told her that they couldn't install the grill because it needed outer upper grill piece(the piece that goes around the top grill that's painted). They said it flopped around and they needed to order the right one for the grill. How come I feel like they are full of shit? I thought you just take the old grill out, pop the new one in and its done. Anybody else heard of this? Thank you!

 

They might be right.

To swap from the standard Toyota logo grill you have to purchase two part numbers..

Garnish & grille

It should run your anywhere from $450-500 total if OEM

 

I have both those parts. They are saying I need a 3rd part that is already on the vehicle. I have a white 4runner and its the white piece that holds the upper grill they are saying I need.

 

Calling BS on the dealer. Just put my pro grill on my 2020 last week. You ONLY need:

PZ323-35058 Garnish Front Bumper
PZ327-35056 Grille Radiator Up

 

BS. You only need two parts. Just get the parts and install it yourself. I did mine.

 

I'm deployed right now. Only reason I was having them do it was because the dealership needed it for a day for ceramic coating. I'm home in 5 months and will install it.
